Castlegregory Celtic F.C. was founded in 1995 by a group of local football enthusiasts, many of whom are still hugely involved with the club on various levels. Since then the club has experienced both good and bad days, from winning leagues and cups to having no home pitch for a number of years. The club play from their scenic pitch in Illauncaum, Castlegregory (a huge thanks to the Goggin family) and now has both a senior side in Premier A and 3B respectively of the KDL. The club has 2 floodlit training areas next to the home pitch and the long term plan is to develop the facilities further with dressing rooms etc which will allow the club develop even further. Since its inception 25 years ago the local football team has always been lucky in that it receives a huge support from local people and businesses, helping the club stay afloat year in year out. With a new youths set up, a strong senior side and a huge local backing the future is bright for Castlegregory Celtic F.C.
